FREED (Mind of her billionaire)

The last in the series The mind of her billionaire. I've really enjoyed writing this. I had no idea where it was going to end up, and I just let it flow with me. I hope you enjoy reading it, the same way I enjoyed writing it!

Amelia’s life becomes a whirlwind of events. She’s forced into being an instant billionaire, and is carrying Justin’s child. From a person looking from the outside in, life seems pretty good, after all she can afford anything. But it is anything but rosy. Roses do come with thorns and her thorn is Justin.

This odd relationship takes an odd route. It’s a love hate relationship for both parties. But eventually, each one will have to come to an agreement, for the child that is soon to be part of their lives.

Life has its surprises, but in the end life just is. Happiness is a choice. Will Amelia choose happiness? What is happiness anyway? Only Amelia can make that choice.

CONTROLLED (The mind of her billionaire book 2)

Don’t judge a book by its cover! Just because he looks nice, dress’s nice and smells nice, doesn’t mean he plays nice.

How the mind works! Just because a person thinks one way, doesn’t mean everyone has to think that way. Is Amelia immature for falling for the good looking billionaire? No, Amelia is human, and so is Justin. They have two very different views of the world.

As their story unfolds, Amelia learns more about herself and her mistakes. Her mistakes are a chance for growth and not judgement, a chance for understanding and not guilt. Is this the end of her relationship with Justin? Or is this just the beginning? Until there is complete understanding of how the human mind works, there is no way of telling what true love means to an individual. And when the veil is finally pulled from her eyes, she sees everything as it is.

 Excerpt

He collapsed into her breathing heavily. Amelia shut her eyes and blinked back the tears and anger. After a while he rolled off her and she turned away from him, she couldn’t face him, she didn’t want to, and she hoped he would never ask her to do it again. It felt like a betrayal to herself, a betrayal of what she felt was true love, her definition of love!
She felt his hand on her shoulder, and he gently turned her back towards him. She quickly wiped away the tears and made sure she wasn’t going to show him any weakness.
‘I love you,’ he said gazing into her eyes.
Amelia bit back her lip, holding back the avalanche of words that were trying to get past.
‘You have to believe me, I love you. Everything I do, is because I love you so much.’
‘So forcing me to go down in dress size is a show of your love?’ She couldn’t help herself.
‘It is. I’m saving you!’ he said.
‘Saving me?!’ The anger rose up within her again. ‘Saving me from what?’
‘I’m saving you from myself,’ he said gently.
She frowned unsure of it all, it made no sense, he was saving her from himself.
‘You can do that by letting me go.’
‘I can’t let you go.’
‘Why not?’ She swallowed back the pain.
‘Because.’ He leaned on his elbow and looked down at her. His eyes were warm, nothing like she’d seen before. ‘Because I need you more than you need me.’
‘I don’t…I don’t understand.’ Her eyes glazed over, she just wanted to go home, she just wanted to be set free!
‘You will, one day you will.’ He lay onto his back and gazed up at the ceiling.
Amelia sniffed and wiped the tear that had escaped her eye. Everything he’d said, just didn’t make any sense at all. He needed her more than she needed him??
‘Get some sleep, we have a big day ahead of us.’
Amelia didn’t even want to think past the next hour, there was nothing left in her to give!

TRAPPED (The Mind of her billionaire)

Part of a new series I'm writing. Trapped is the first in the series. If there is one thing I know for sure, is that looks aren't everything, and neither is money. Sometimes striving for the wrong thing can take a person on a journey unexpected. But as always, lessons are to be learnt and hopefully my heroine will have a deeper understanding to what she really wants.

Careful what you wish for! Looks aren’t everything, and Amelia knows this. But when it comes to Justin, Amelia just can’t help herself. The billionaire is hot, tall and extremely handsome. He could have any woman he wants without having to lift a finger.

Amelia has never had trouble attracting men. Taller and bigger than most women, Amelia possesses a healthy self-esteem, thanks to her parents. But when it comes to Justin, something inside her just wants to do everything she can to get his attention.

As head of a creative team, Amelia has always managed to impress the board, all except Justin, until one day things change. Suddenly she gets all the attention she wants from him, and her world is complete. Or is it? How far will she go to keep this man? And just when she thinks he’s so into her, something very disturbing shakes the whole relationship. Amelia finds herself trapped!

This is part of a series and Part Two will be available mid June!

Excerpt

Forty minutes later they stopped outside the restaurant. It had a warm feel to it and Amelia felt at home. They were directed to a table, and it seemed as though Justin was well known.

‘This is nice,’ she said as she got comfortable.

‘I’ve been coming here for years! They’re like family to me.’

‘Wow, that’s lovely.’

A waiter appeared with the menus and gave them a moment to decide. After a few minutes he returned to take the order.

‘Ready to order?’ he asked.

‘I’ll have my usual,’ he said to the waiter.

‘Duck breast…’

‘Yes, and everything in between.’

The waiter nodded, and then gazed at Amelia.

‘I think I’ll have the fish and fat chips with peas.’ She could already feel her mouth water just by the sound of it.

‘Actually, get her the house salad,’ he said suddenly.

What had just happened? Amelia wasn’t sure she’d heard him right.

‘Actually, I’d really like the fish and chips,’ she said.

‘House salad,’ he said again to the waiter, then sent him on his way.

It took her by surprise, like a cold fish slap against her face. Had he just placed an order for her?

‘Remember what I said in the car about the body being a temple.’

She nodded slowly.

‘I want you to start treating your body like a temple.’ He smiled then reached out his hand.

Amelia wasn’t sure whether to take it or not. But when she noticed how his grey eyes softened and his charming smile appeared, she found herself placing her hand in his.

It felt amazing! Touching his hands, touching the man she’d been crazy about.

‘You my dear have great potential,’ he said. ‘You have big ideas and big confidence, but that will only carry you so far.’ He smiled. ‘If you want to get ahead, run a company like mine, you’ll have to do more than sell big ideas.’ He let go of her hand and withdrew.

Standing In The Light ( Jasmine & Zack)

The final part to Jasmine & Zack Series!

Darkness has covered Jasmine and Zack’s life. Can they cope? Will Jasmine be able to keep it together? Even though Zack tries to be strong for both of them, it’s like trying to climb Everest. Jasmine’s progress takes on a yoyo effect. Its two steps forward and one step back, but as she soon discovers, that she’s not her illness. Her illness is only part of her life, not her life, and with that knowledge she’s able to overcome it somewhat.

Zack suggests they stand in the light, that the only way to overcome darkness, is to step into the light. It sounds easier said than done, and each time they try to, something or someone brings the darkness back again. But with all things, love must conquer all. The question is, will their love be strong enough to overcome it? Will they finally be happy?

Excerpt

‘Honey?’ Jasmine walked down the steps cautiously.
‘It’s Kimberly,’ he said finally. ‘She wants to talk to me.’
Jasmine had thrown up nothing, but the act of causing pain had brought about a sense of control.
‘I want to do this, this standing in the light thing,’ she said. ‘I want to try, I will go to therapy, but I’m not ready to go to work.’
He smiled, but was still nervous about the noise coming from the door.
‘Okay.’ He held out his hand.
‘In order to do that you’re going to have to face her; you’re going to have to face the truth. Isn’t that what it’s all about?’
There was a moment where it all made sense to him. He’d just asked her to face something, and yet he wasn’t willing to face his own demons.
‘You know what, you’re right, but I’m afraid of what I might do to her.’
‘You told me that you wanted to kill your mother, but you didn’t because you saw my face. I’m here with you right now. You’re not capable of harming anyone.’
He nodded even though he wasn’t sure about that. There was still a rage within him burning so strongly, that he was sure that at some point it would come out.
‘You’re right.’ He squeezed her hand. ‘You’re right.’
Jasmine nodded, and together they walked to the door. Kimberly stood looking like a wounded puppy.
‘Zack,’ she whispered. ‘I’m so, so sorry, I didn’t know.’
He clenched his teeth.
‘I didn’t know about Claire. I didn’t mean for this to happen.’ Kimberly was in tears.
Jasmine held onto his hand a little tighter, and he did the same.
‘My sister almost died! How could you do this to me, to us? Did you think it was going to bring us back together?’
‘What I did was unforgivable, it didn’t make me feel any better. I realise now, that it was the worse thing I’ve ever done.’
He watched her angrily, and squeezed Jasmine’s hand tight, so as not to reach for her and strangle her.
‘I’ve brought your keys.’ She sniffed as she reached for her jacket pocket. ‘I’ve taken all my things.’
He took the keys.
‘Before I go, there is something I need you to know.’
‘I think we’re done talking. Ask for forgiveness from God, just like my mother did. He tends to be pretty generous! I have none here to give you!’ He was about to shut the door.
‘It was Tory!’ she blurted before he could shut the door.
Zack pulled the door opened, and eyed her for a moment.
‘Troy did it, he planned all of it! I didn’t want to go through with it!’

Secrets & Lies (Jasmine & Zack)

The second part to Jasmine & Zack series is now out!! I'm really excited about telling this story. It's important to me and I hope that even though it's a story, that people may see that a person with a mental illness can't snap out of it and that it's as real as diabetes or high blood pressure. Love, compassion and understanding is all that is needed and I hope Zack teaches that in this story!

Synopsis
What if the key to healing ones life is to look into the eyes of another? Like attracts like.  Zack’s love and attraction to Jasmine is deeper than he understands. There is no perfect universe but there is a perfect person for him.

His secret has been dug deep within him that even he believed it no longer existed. But with a past ready to be dug up that has long been buried, perhaps its Zack’s turn to be vulnerable. Perhaps running, working hard isn’t the answer to being in the light.

‘We all have lives we wished we never had, but be thankful for yours; it’s always better than someone else’s.’ Zack wasn’t lying when he said that! A deep dark secret is about to be brought to light and his world will be turned upside down!

Will Jasmine survive this news, will he? One cannot choose their parents but can choose a different path for themselves; this is what Zack has done for years. But is Zack really able to run away from a very dark past that will eventually come to light?

Excerpt

‘Hey!’ Zack pushed the man aside.
‘Who the hell are you and what do you think you’re doing?’ Clive looked up at the tall hunk furiously.
‘I can have employment lawyers all over you so fast you’ll be collecting unemployment benefit after they’re done with you!’ said Zack.
Clive huffed and stood back a moment.
‘Jasmine suffers from a disorder, she’s off to the doctors today and if it so happens that you or anyone else treat this as if she’s doing it on purpose you will all stand before an employment tribunal.’
‘I… well she…’
‘Jasmine needs help not anger and threats. Would you do this to someone who was in a wheelchair? Would you shout at them and tell them to stand up and walk!’ He was furious.
‘No of course not.’
‘This isn’t any different. Be very careful,’ he said then pushed aside the short man and stepped into the restroom.
‘Honey,’ his voice was soft.

Jasmine reached for the soap and began to lather again. Zack stepped forward and soon he was standing right behind her. He placed his hands over hers and helped her lather her hands. Her shoulders relaxed as he directed them under the water and together they washed their hands. He didn’t speak, he didn’t ask her to stop. Instead he allowed her to show him what she wanted and after one more wash Jasmine stopped. She turned around and fell into his manly chest and burst into tears.
‘It’s okay, you’re okay.’ He gently rubbed his hand over her head. ‘You’re okay.’
Gwen felt a tingle of admiration for the handsome hunk who had just changed the way she viewed Jasmine. The way he’d accepted her and just allowed her to be had managed to calm her down. She was in awe of him. He pulled some paper towel from the left of them and began to dry her hands. The inside of her hands were red from all the scrubbing and the scalding water.
‘You’ll be fine.’ He kept her in his warm embrace.
It took them a while but soon he managed to lead Jasmine out of the restroom and out into her office. There were eyes on them and all the drama that had unfolded between Clive and Zack had become the new office headline. In a way their attitudes including Clive’s began to change.
‘Take as long as you like,’ said Clive as they were about to enter the room. ‘I’m – ’
‘Its fine, I’ll take it from here.’
They entered the room and Zack closed the door behind them. He led her to the chair and she sat down.

After two disastrous dates, Jasmine vows never to go on a date again, even if it means being single for the rest of her life. But one morning after she drops by a coffee shop she meets Zack.
Zack is tall, handsome and an extremely successful architect dealing with some issues of his own. Zack seems to understand her completely and perhaps he understands her more than she understands herself. And so their unlikely journey begins. Zack becomes the key she needs to finally break free, fall in love and possibly feel normal again.

Excerpt

He lifted her hand to his chest and looked into her eyes. That said it all and without much thought Jasmine pulled the keys from her bag and put them into the keyhole. She shut her eyes knowing very well that the minute she stepped into the house she would have to turn the key back and forth to make sure it was locked. Did she really want him to see that part of her?
The door unlocked and she stepped in and Zack stepped in behind her. She pushed the door closed, placed the latch on and put the key into the keyhole. She leaned against the door in darkness and turned the key once but couldn’t resist the urge to turn it back and forth. She scrunched her eyes closed with her other hand against the door and began to turn the key back and forth. She felt him move closer and his hand touched hers and together they were turning the key back and forth. His lips gently touched her neck, his hand not moving from hers. She gasped at the feeling, the soft touch of his lips and slowly and surely the turning back and forth of the key stopped.
Jasmine reached for the light to the left of the door and again the urge to switch it off and on overwhelmed her. But that didn’t stop him, instead he kept his hand over her hand and as she switched the light off and on, his hand simply followed her lead. Jasmine shut her eyes and let his tender lips explore her outer neck. It sent shivers down her spine that exploded between her legs. She’d never felt this way with anyone and although it was a new feeling it was the best feeling in the world.
‘I…’ she stopped flicking the light and turned towards him.
‘Ssssh, its okay,’ he whispered and cupped her chin in his hand. ‘It’s okay.’

Rocking His World

Does love conquer all or has it covered Kay’s eyes to what really is? After the clean up Kay begins to wonder about the relationship. Is Nate really who he say’s he is and can he change? But when promise after promise is broken, Kay begins to loose her edge.

Soon Nate will make a big mistake that could cost her her career. Changes and hard decisions have to be made. Nate may be the love of her life, the man who loves her just the way she is but is that really enough, is that reason for her to stay? Is it enough for her to cling on to? It will take time and important decisions to find out if Kay and Nate have a future together.

Excerpt

Kay rolled to the left of the bed and the cold air hit her. She sat up fast her heart pounding suddenly. Had it been a dream or had Nate spent the night. It was still dark outside, the green lights from the alarm clock screamed 4.15am. Only an hour left before she had to get up and get ready for her day. There was a tight feeling in her stomach, the feeling told her what she didn’t want to know.
Kay fiddled for the side lamp and noticed Nate’s shoes on the floor. So it hadn’t been a dream, he was somewhere in her house. The fear wrapped around her like a python taking away her ability to breathe properly. She pushed back the covers and stepped onto the ground. The fear increased the moment she took steps towards the door.
There was darkness in the hall but there was a faint light that came from downstairs. The stairs creaked as she slowly made her way downstairs.
‘Nate?’ she whispered as she got to the entrance of the living room. ‘Nate?’ She turned the switch so that the light flooded the room a lot more.
Nate was spread out across the couch, with one leg on the ground. His arms were crossed against his chest. Her eyes darted towards the table and she saw the twenty pound note rolled up like a pencil. Tears gathered in her eyes when she realised what she’d feared. He’d just taken some cocaine. Why didn’t she learn her lesson?
Her feet couldn’t move, they felt glued to the ground by the weight of the grief. It was a while before one foot stepped in front of the other and finally reached Nate. Kay gazed down at him, her stomach in knots her heart torn apart. How could she love someone so much and at the same time feel so much hurt? It would be easy from someone looking in, at one point she was that woman. The woman yelling from behind the scenes to dump that man, he’s no good. But here she was wrestling with herself; wrestling with the truth that she had fallen to become a victim of emotion. The man who lay on the couch had been the man who believed in her, was she about to toss him aside like he didn’t matter. Too many times Kay had burnt bridges before she’d had time to dig deeper, to realise that humans were not perfect and that many times over they made mistakes. Not too long ago Kay had almost starved herself to death, and it had almost become an addiction, equally destructive as Nate’s cocaine habit. How was it okay for her and not for him? Kay wrestled with her mind, with her emotions and with her conscious and failed to realise something until she took a closer look at Nate.
‘Nate?’ His bottom lip looked a little blue. ‘Nate!’ she shook him hard.
Nate’s body didn’t move an inch.
‘Nate please! Oh god!’
For a moment panic set in, Kay paced, what was she going to do? Her mind spun with many questions. Was he dead?
‘Oh god Nate!’

This is the final in the series and is available now at ARE and soon at Amazon, B&N, Apple and Kobo!
